Transferring university studies

General information

A transfer may be considered between the same or related degree programmes in the same cycle and field of study, offered by public or private national or foreign higher education institutions. Both the institution and the programme must hold the relevant accreditation when the application is submitted.

The historical guidance refers to a secondary-school average of at least 6/10, or an equivalent grade under the destination country's system. The actual eligibility threshold is determined by the current rules of the destination university and country.

Submitting an application

1. Contact the campus academic office and complete the online registration or application procedure specified for your programme.
2. Select the transfer-of-studies pathway and provide the requested personal and academic information.
3. Submit electronic copies of the required documents in PDF or PDF/A format within the published deadline.
4. Where required, deliver the signed application and original or certified paper documents in person or through an authorised representative.
5. Pay the applicable application or administrative fees.

Deadlines, documentation and fees are established for each academic year by the relevant university and competent authorities. Online submission alone may not complete the procedure.

Medicine, dentistry, physiotherapy and nursing

Applicants with complete documentation and sufficient recognised credits may be considered for entry beyond the first year. Eligible applicants must follow the destination university's internal rules. Exemption from an entrance examination is possible only where the applicable rules and university agreements allow it; it is not automatic for every European university applicant.

A teaching committee examines the applicant's academic record, recognises or validates examinations and credits in full or in part, and determines the year of entry. The relevant faculty authority approves the evaluation.

Architecture and business administration

The teaching committee of the destination programme evaluates the academic record and determines recognised credits, validated examinations and the year in which the applicant may enrol.

Pharmacy

Applications may be considered from universities in EU or non-EU countries recognised and accredited by their national authorities. The appropriate committee evaluates the submitted documents and previously earned credits individually.

Before enrolment, the destination university may verify the authenticity of the documents. Procedures can change following new admission rules or ministerial measures. Request the current official instructions before submitting an application.
