The European Research Centre, IRSD

The European Research Centre for Integration and Cooperation, IRSD, is described as an initiative to develop and support research. Its interdisciplinary approach brings together universities, research centres and think tanks working in economics, international relations, political science, sociology and pharmaceutical studies.

The centre's presentation identifies three areas: research supporting education, research in economics and development, and work and employment as contributors to social well-being.

Research and education

The first area focuses on the foundations of university research, development of study programmes, strengthening civil society and economic policies that support development.

Economics and development

The second area examines the conditions and dynamics of stable and lasting economic development between states and political systems. It considers cooperation and integration between economies with different levels of stability.

Employment and society

The third area treats economic development as a benefit to working communities. It considers how institutions can maintain economic stability, develop effective policies and address global challenges such as climate change and emerging technologies.
